The popularity of cryptocurrencies is growing exponentially over the years. The total market cap of all cryptocurrencies is currently nearing $400 billion. Bitcoin (the first cryptocurrency, launched in 2008 by Satoshi Nakamoto) has grown in value from less than $1 to more than $15,000. Unlike any central bank currency, Bitcoin has a total fixed supply of 21 million coins, over 18 million coins out of which are already in circulation.

Over the years, especially with the current pandemic and subsequent economic crisis, the US fiat dollar has been devaluing rapidly. That led to inflation and loss in the money buying power. Why? Well, unlike Bitcoin, the US dollar can be printed (or minted) with a click of a button. …

Hi there! This is the fourth article in the series where I share my experience with beginner miners. In the previous article, we discussed how to overclock a video card in order to increase its hash rate and reduce power consumption. This time, we will learn more about mining farm locations, electrical wiring, Internet connection quality, and cooling requirements.

Choosing a Facility

If you are an amateur miner and your farm has fewer than 20 rigs, you don’t need a special facility. What you do need, however, is quality wiring and at least 1.5 kW of power per rig. Generally, the permissible level of continuous consumption in apartments is up to 10 kW; for houses, it’s about 20 kW. In any case, be sure to consult an electrician. You can roughly determine your power capacity by looking at circuit breakers in the fuse box: in most cases, there is a three-phase breaker, and the maximum current is specified under the switch. To get the approximate allowable power, multiply this number by 3 and then by 220 V. For instance, if the label under the circuit breaker says C25, then 25 A × 3 × 220 V = 16,500 V⋅A. …

Fraud is as old as the hills, but it adapts well to the changing reality and innovative markets, soaring to new heights as society and technology move forward. Where there is money, there are scams. Ergo, the crypto industry is a true breeding ground for fraudulent activity.

Hundreds of scams happen every year: investors lose their money on shady ICOs and fake tokens, crypto novices get themselves into Ponzi schemes, crypto holders have their funds stolen on exchanges and from online wallets. In 2019 alone scammers stole over $4.26 billion from crypto holders! Sometimes it seems inevitable — if you own digital coins, you’ll get scammed sooner or later. …

Do you remember your Bitcoin address?

As we all know, most blockchain addresses are very hard to read for a human. This problem comes from the blockchain’s origin — cryptography. Remembering or dictating a Bitcoin address is not an easy task. And when you have 5, 10, 20 such addresses? …

To Whom It May Concern,

We are avid fans of the XRP community and do our best to make sure that the XRP fans (and anyone, really) who come into contact with ChangeNOW in any way are safe and sound. During our existence, we have managed to prevent more than $1m worth of XRP from being stolen through hacks and scams.

Unfortunately, this is a reality we have to live with; there are tons of malicious agents on the Internet who are out for your money. The best thing we can do is stay vigilant of them.

Right now, there’s a customer of ours who has been suspected of illicit activity; we got the information from our colleagues in the crypto compliance industry who we are in regular contact with. Right now, an investigation is being conducted — the customer’s funds are in cold storage while we take all the necessary actions according to our AML compliance procedures. The investigation involves several parties and will last for some time: we have to contact the victims, get the necessary info from them, verify the information we got, and redirect the requests to the police. …

A Bitcoin SV wallet is a must if you want to store all of your hard-earned or mined Bitcoin SV coins. Choosing the best BSV wallets is a difficult task, and many parameters can affect your final decision. First, let’s learn more about BSV!

What is Bitcoin SV

Bitcoin SV (Satoshi’s Vision) was hard-forked from the Bitcoin Cash project on November 15, 2018. It happened because a group of users wanted to retain the original idea that Satoshi Nakamoto proposed in his Bitcoin whitepaper.

First, the original Bitcoin project had a small block size limit of 1 MB. It bottlenecks the maximum rate of transaction processing, and Bitcoin Cash founders hard-forked the project and increased the block size to 32 MB. …
