Staking ERC-20 NOW: An Ultimate Guide
Hi folks! ERC-20 NOW staking tool has been available for a few months now, but many of you have encountered some difficulties while setting it up in your Metamask, so we decided to prepare this guide. We tried to make it as easy as possible so you have your step-by-step instructions to start earning your 25% yearly interest. Let’s dig in!
- Set up your Metamask Wallet
In your browser (Chrome, Firefox, or Brave), install an official Metamask Ethereum wallet extension. Find the links here.
If you’ve never had one, follow the easy instructions in the extension. Don’t forget to save your seed phrase in a secure place.
if you already had Metamask, sign in with your seed phrase.
If you want to import your existing Ethereum Wallet into Metamask, you can also do so. Head on to your wallet and find private keys from your ETH address. Then, in Metamask, click on the account icon and choose Import Account:
Paste your private key. You’re all set!
2. Make sure your NOW balance is displayed correctly
In your Metamask, click Add Token, and then Custom Token.
Paste the NOW smart contract address: 0xe9a95d175a5f4c9369f3b74222402eb1b837693b
The ticker and decimals will be set automatically by Metamask.
Click Import.
3. Set up the amount to stake and the period
Head on to the staking home page. Click Staking. Once here, use the NOW staking calculator to see what staked amounts will bring you what profits in a set period. The ROI will be different — see it in the circle to your right. Use the scroll bar or type in the numbers manually.
Once set, click Stake it NOW.
In this tutorial, we’ll stake 150 NOW.
4. Connect Metamask
Here, a staking window will pop up. Make sure you’ve entered the correct amount of NOW. If you’d like to stake more but don’t have as much NOW at the moment, don’t worry — you can easily get some more on ChangeNOW! Follow the links to estimate how much you’d like to get with fiat or with any other crypto.
Once the staking amount is set, click Unlock Metamask:
Your Metamask’s browser extension window will appear. Choose the account where your NOW tokens are located, click Next, and then — Connect:
5. Confirm your transaction
Almost there! Now, once the wallet is connected, check the sum again and click Approve NOW. In the wallet extension window, click Confirm to approve your transaction. Check a sample one here.
6. Stake in NOW
After the approval, click Stake it NOW on the website and then Confirm in the Metamask window. This will send your NOW from your wallet and send you special NOW-STAKE tokens that confirm your stake. Never lose access to your NOW-STAKE tokens, because thus you will lose access to NOW in your stake!
7. Here you go!
In your Metamask interface, you will see when your NOW-STAKE tokens transaction is confirmed (find an example here). Once it’s done, you’re all set! Congratulations on staking NOW! On the nearest Wednesday, you will receive your first staking reward. We distribute them weekly.
Visit the Staking page on ChangeNOW to see your staking balance. Here, you can increase your stake or unstake your tokens at any moment (but not earlier than in a week).
